Ghruta Nanda Deepa Seva – a sacred continuous ghee lamp lit for one full month at Shri Ruju Yogi Vadiraja Mandira. Book this powerful seva online.

Description

Ghruta Nanda Deepa Seva is the offering of a sacred ghee lamp (ghruta deepa) that burns uninterrupted for one full month at Shri Bhaavi Sameera Vadiraja Mandira, Chintamani. Ghee (ghruta) is considered the purest of all substances in Vedic tradition – born from the cow, refined through churning, and purified by fire. A ghee lamp is regarded as the most sattvik offering a devotee can make, and its flame is said to attract the highest divine vibrations.

How Ghruta Nanda Deepa Is Maintained

Upon booking, the temple lights a pure ghee lamp in your name with proper sankalpa (invocation of your name, gotra, and intention). The lamp is maintained for 30 consecutive days before the deities and the Pancha Vrundavana of Sri Vadirajaru. Temple caretakers replenish the ghee as needed, ensuring the flame never goes out during the entire seva period.

Why Ghee Is Superior for Lamp Offerings

The Agni Purana and Garuda Purana both distinguish between types of lamp offerings. Ghee lamps are described as producing the most merit – they are said to please Lord Vishnu more than any other lamp substance. The Ayurvedic texts describe ghee as tejas-vardhana (that which increases spiritual radiance). When ghee burns, it produces negative ions that purify the surrounding air, and the golden flame is traditionally associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity.

In the Madhwa tradition, ghee holds special significance because it is derived from the sacred cow (Gau Mata). Shri Madhwacharya prescribed ghee as the preferred substance for all homa (fire ritual) and deepa (lamp) offerings. At our temple, we use only pure desi cow ghee for this seva.

Spiritual Benefits

Devotees book Ghruta Nanda Deepa for clarity of mind, spiritual progress, prosperity, removal of obstacles, and divine protection. It is especially recommended during difficult life phases, before major decisions, or as an offering of gratitude. The continuous ghee flame is believed to sustain a channel of divine grace throughout the 30-day period, providing lasting spiritual upliftment.

Prasada You Receive

After the one-month seva period, you receive Mantrakshate (consecrated rice), Kumkuma, and Dry Fruit – all blessed through the month-long ghee lamp offering. Prasada is delivered to your doorstep with care.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ghruta Nanda Deepa Seva?

It is the offering of a pure ghee lamp that burns continuously for one month at Shri Vadiraja Mandira on your behalf. Ghruta means ghee, Nanda means eternal, and Deepa means lamp.

Why is a ghee lamp considered more sattvik than an oil lamp?

Ghee is derived from the sacred cow and refined through a purification process. The Agni Purana and Garuda Purana describe ghee lamps as producing the highest spiritual merit. Ghee produces a brighter, steadier flame and is associated with Lakshmi and spiritual radiance.

How is Ghruta Nanda Deepa different from Taila Nanda Deepa?

The key difference is the fuel: Ghruta uses pure ghee while Taila uses sesame oil. Both burn for one month, but ghee lamps are considered more sattvik and are preferred for spiritual progress and prosperity, while oil lamps are specifically effective for planetary relief (especially Shani-related).

Can I book this seva for prosperity and business success?

Yes. The ghee lamp is closely associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Many devotees book Ghruta Nanda Deepa specifically for business success, financial stability, and material prosperity alongside spiritual growth.

What kind of ghee is used?

The temple uses pure desi cow ghee for this seva, following the prescription of Shri Madhwacharya in the Tantrasara Sangraha. Only cow ghee (not buffalo or blended) is used.

When is the best time to book Ghruta Nanda Deepa?

The seva can be booked for any period. Particularly auspicious times include the start of Karthika month, Ekadashi, Pournami (full moon), and before major festivals. Many devotees also book it during Shravan month for amplified merit.
