Panchami Archana Seva – a special archana performed on Panchami tithi seeking blessings of Sri Ugra Narasimha Devaru. Book at Ruju Yogi Foundation.

Description

Panchami Archana Seva is the sacred nama-archana (worship through divine names) performed on Panchami tithi – the fifth day of the lunar fortnight. This seva holds extraordinary significance at Shri Bhaavi Sameera Vadiraja Mandira, Chintamani, because Sri Vadirajaru himself prescribed the worship of his Vrundavana on Panchami tithi in the Swapna Vrundavana Akhyana, one of the most treasured texts in the Madhwa tradition.

The Swapna Vrundavana Akhyana Prescription

In the Anu Vrundavana Akhyana (the digest of key verses from the Swapna Vrundavana Akhyana), verses 10 and 11 state: “Tasmaad vrundavana idam sarvabheeshtapradam sataam… Panchamyaam cha tithau nityam pancha parvasu poojayet.” Translation: This Vrundavana grants all desires to the pious. It should be worshipped during the five special parva times of the day, and especially on Panchami tithi. The entire Akhyana emphasises the number five (pancha) – five Vrundavanas, five forms of Lord Hari, five parva kalas, Panchami tithi, Panchamruta, and Pancha Kharjura (five dry fruits in prasada).

How Panchami Archana Is Performed

The archaka performs sankalpa in the devotee’s name and gotra, then recites the divine names of Lord Vishnu while offering Tulasi leaves, flowers, or akshata at the feet of the deity and the Vrundavana. Each name – “Om Keshavaya Namaha,” “Om Narayanaya Namaha” – is a direct invocation of a divine attribute. The archana concludes with Mangala Aarati and the distribution of prasada.

Spiritual Significance

Nama-archana is considered one of the most accessible and powerful forms of bhakti in the Kali Yuga. The Narada Bhakti Sutra counts it among the nine forms of devotion. When performed on Panchami tithi as prescribed by Sri Vadirajaru, the merit is believed to be multiplied, as the devotee aligns with the saint’s own instruction and receives the combined blessings of the Guru Parampara and Lord Hari.

Spiritual Benefits

Devotees book Panchami Archana for protection, peace, family wellbeing, academic success, and spiritual progress. The seva is especially powerful for those who follow the Madhwa sampradaya and seek the direct blessings of Sri Vadirajaru.

Prasada You Receive

You receive Mantrakshate (consecrated rice), Kumkuma, and Dry Fruit (with Pancha Kharjura as applicable, honouring the five-fold theme) – all blessed through the Panchami Archana. Prasada is delivered to your doorstep.
